Heat stress management
Changes in animal welfare brought about by thermal discomfort trigger a drop in growth performance, reduced feed efficiency, poor productivity and increased mortality. Heat stress can also lead to heavy commercial losses in livestock farming.
To effectively combat this problem, we have created a new Provimi concept for managing feeding in line with the seasons. This new development aims to improve the performance of animals that are subjected to heat stress.
Our programme is based on:
- Nutritional recommendations and practical advice on how to manage livestock in heat stress situations.
- The use of nutritional solutions designed to alleviate the numerous effects of heat stress, regulate water flows, improve energy metabolism and facilitate heat shedding in order to ultimately enable improvements in feed consumption and maintain livestock performance.
